IIIT Kottayam conducts a written test to select candidates for PhD CSE programme. Selected candidates also need to pass a personal interview round conducted by the institute. The application fee per department is INR 1,000 for the General/ Gen-EWS/ OBC category and INR 500 for SC/ST/PWD/Female category candidates. This amount is completely non-refundable. Candidates can deposit the requisite application fee by using net banking or debit/credit card facilities. Additional charges are applicable as per the rule of the concerned bank. The fee is, however, not accepted through any other mode.

The cut off marks for Physics subject are different for both PhD and Integrated PhD courses. The previous year cut off date of Physics exam is mentioned below.
