No, a doctor with 20 years of experience cannot directly pursue a PhD without taking the NET exam. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has made it mandatory for candidates to pass the National Eligibility Test (NET) to be eligible for a PhD. This is because the NET exam assesses a candidate's knowledge and research skills in their chosen field, which are essential for pursuing a PhD.

Applicants seeking admission to PhD courses at St. Joseph Engineering College must have a Master's Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Management Science from VTU or any other university with a minimum of 60%. Further, a relaxation of 10% will be given to SC/ST or any other category or applicants with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Teaching or research, subject to the approval of VTU.

Additionally, the college offers admission based on entrance exams in all the specilisation of Phd. Applicants must appear for the GATE / University Level Research Aptitude test to be eligible for admission.

No, JISIASR, JIS University requires at least 50% aggregate in MSc/BE/BTech/MTech/MPharm. If any student passes another entrance-level exam related to the field, they are also eligible for the course. The institute accepts various National Level Exams for admission to PhD courses including SIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/GATE/INSPIRE/ JGEEBILS / RGNF.

So if any candidates want admission to JIS Institute of Advanced Studies and Research for PhD course they must have 50% in under graduation or post-graduation degree.
