The difference between a Polytechnic and a university:
Polytechnics are generally predetermined for engineering courses and are well-equipped for this. If you prefer engineering courses such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, etc., your best bet should be polytechnics. The fee structures of diploma or polytechnic is 1 lakhs 20 thousands roughly in 3 years. There are 6 semesters in 3 years.There are also TFW scheme available where you have to provide your family income, in TFW Scheme your fees became close to 56 thousands in 3 years roughly.
These fees structures are valid for WBSCTE(West Bengal state council of technical education) which provides diploma or polytechnic course in West Bengal. But in other states diploma or polytechnic college I guess there fees structures also more or less same as compared to WBSCTE's structures.
