You can seek admission in Diploma in engineering after 10th class. Different states conduct thier Entrance Examinations for admission in Polytechnic. For example Directorate of Technical Education Uttar Pradesh conducts Join entrance exams for admission in Diploma in engineering course in Polytechnic located in state of UP. You can appear for your state Engineering Entrance to do Diploma in engineering.

The eligibility criteria for doing B.Sc in journalism is a 10+2 from a recognised board. Unfortunately, Diploma from Polytechnic is not treated equivalently to 10+2 by a majority of universities. You are advised to check with your targeted universities whether they allow Diploma holders to seek admission in B.Sc in journalism.

Well for lateral entry, the required percentage is 65% but some college provide admission at 60%. But for that, you have to score good in LEET entrance exam.
