Hello Anurag,
The best colleges for product design I know of include Georgia Institute of Technology, Carnegie Mellon University, Arizona State University, University of Cincinnati, Ohio State University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Rhode Island School of Design to name a few. These are best known in terms of research and internship.

1) IDC (Industrial Design Center), IITB, Mumbai
Private Institutes:
2) Symbiosis Institute of Design, Pune
3) MIT Institute of Design, Pune
4) DSK International, Pune
5) College of Architecture and Center for Design, Nashik (not sure if it's private or govt.)

You may keep Unitedworld Institute of Design as an option which provides both UG and PG programme in product design. The institute provides quality education as well as encourage the students to show their creativity. The institute is recognized by Gulbarga University. Faculties over here belong from some of the eminent fashion institutes who guide the students in an effective way.
