(d)   :  411 + 412 + 413 + 414 + 415

= 411 (1 + 41 + 42 + 43 + 44) = 411 * 341.

The factors of 341 are: 1, 11, 31 and 341. Thus, we can say that the values in each of the three options would divide the expression.

It is given average of 24 numbers = 59.5

Sum = 59.5 *24 = 1428

Let the numbers erased be 'm'

1428 + m = 2 (n*25+25*262)

1428 + m = 50n + 650

50n – m = 778

Least value 'n' can take 16

(i) for n = 16, m =22

Series 2 (17, 18… 41)

i.e. 34, 36, 38 ….82

from this series we cannot remove 22. So, this case is not valid.

(ii) for n = 17, m = 72

Series 2 (18, 19… 42)

Only this case is valid

Average (A) =  (36+84)2 = 60

Sum of series after removing 72 and adding next consecutive even number

1500 – 72 + 86 = 1514

Average (C) = 1514/25 = 60.56

A – C = 60 – 60.56

= 0.56

(b):If X be the distance, we have:

( X 3 ) 1 0 + ( X 3 ) 9 + ( X 3 ) 8 + ( 1 2 ) 6 0 = ( X 2 ) 1 0 + ( X 2 ) 8 or

X = 27 km.

(a):Let us suppose the income of man = Rs. 1000

Savings = 15% of 1000 = Rs. 150

Expenditure = 1000 – 150 = 850

New Income = 1.2 * 1000 = 1200

New Expenditure = 1.1 * 850 = 935

New Savings = 1200 – 935 = 265

Required percentage = 2 6 5 1 2 0 0 * 1 0 0 = 2 2 . 0 8 %

(a):Cost of material = 30% of 4000 = 1200

New cost of material =  1 2 0 0 ( 1 ? 2 6 6 1 0 0 ) = 1150

Cost of manufacturing = 2 0 0 0 ( 1 + 2 0 1 0 0 )  = 2400

So, new profit = 4000 – (2400 + 1150) = 450

(c):Let A be the combined age of husband and wife n be the number of children and x is the average age of one child. Then

A = 6nx…. (1)

A – 4 = 10 (n (x – 2)] …. (2)

A + 12 = 3 [n (x + 6)] …. (3)

On solving the above equation, we get n = 3

(a):We have (A ¬ 20) = 0.4 (B + 20), i.e. A – 0.4B = 28

And (B – 40) = 0.4 (A + 40), i.e. B – 0.4A = 56

Solve these equation's we get A = 60 Rs.

(b):In normal time rate = Rs. 6 per hour

During sale rates are increased by 50% i.e.,

Rate 40-hour week = 240 + 50% of 240 = Rs. 360

Rate per hour = Rs. 9 per hour

Now, according to the question,

Required commission = 9 * 60 = Rs. 540
