The eligibility criteria for admission to the B.Des programme is determined by the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID). The candidates can go through the program-specific eligibility criteria on the admission portal of SID - sid.edu.in.
SEED 2024 eligibility criteria for the B.Des programme is explained below.
A candidate must have passed 10+2 (any stream) or an equivalent or 10+3 Diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% (SC/ST - 45%) aggregate marks.

The B.Des programme has an intake capacity of 180 seats (Indian nationals only). In addition, there are 27 seats reserved for international students. The candidate may note that the seat intake is however subject to approval from SIU. There is also reservation of seats for SC, ST, and Differently Abled candidates.
The B.Des programme is available in four specialisations - Communication Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, and Fashion Communication.

Yes, the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) has caste-based reservation of seats for admission to the B.Des program. SID has a combined intake of 180 seats for Indian students. The reservation criteria for the B.Des programme is given in the table below.

Candidates seeking admission to the B.Des programme at SID need to first appear in the SEED 2025 written exam. Shortlisted candidates have to appear in a Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) round. To appear in the personal interaction, the candidate will have to book their slots. The candidate will also have to upload a PRPI Task and Portfolio.

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) offers specializations in four disciplines - Communication Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, and Fashion Communication. The candidate can select their choice of specialisation when filling the application form. Note that the allotment of specialisation would be done as per the merit rank of the candidate in the SEED 2025 exam. Currently, the seat intake for the Communication Design for Indian students stands at 26 seats. In addition, there are 4 seats for international students. So, the comibned intake for Indian and international students come to 30 seats.
