The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) conducted the SEED 2024 written exam on January 14, 2024. The exam was 1 hour long (conducted between 10 am to 4 pm).
The exam slot was mentioned in the admit card.
On exam day, the candidate had to be ready an hour so before the exam to ensure all pre-exam formalites are comleted on time. The SEED exam is being conducted in an online proctored mode.

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) hasn't notified that taking the mock tests is mandatory for admission to the B.Des programme or appearing in SEED 2026. So, it is the discretion of the candidate whether they appear in the mocks or not. That being said it is recommended that the candidate takes the mock tests.
It is because the exercise will help the candidate check out the technicalities of the online proctored exam. This in turn will ensure that there are no unnecessary surprises on exam day.

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) will conduct the mock tests in online mode only. There will be no option to take the mocks in offline mode. The mock tests will be uploaded on the SID admission portal - sid.ed.in. To take the mock tests, the candidate will have to log in to the portal using candidate credentials.
SID will conduct two mock test; the 1st mock will be conducted on December 17, followed by the 2nd mock test on December 18, 2023.

Yes, SEED is compulsory for admission to the BDes programme at Symbiosis Institute of Design. Passing the exam followed by Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction rounds is necessary. For students appearing for SEED for the first time, SEED preparation tips can be helpful. Also do fill out the application form timely so that exam preparation can be started early. Other than this, hard work and determination are very important.

Ideally, the candidate must be ready for the online exam an hour or so before the exam commences. The Symbiosis Institute of Design will release the detailed reporting time on its official website.
The SEED 2026 written exams will be conducted in an online, proctored, computer-based model. This means the candidate can take the exam from any location of their choice. To take the online exam, the candidate will need a laptop/desktop, webcam, internet, and a few other software and hardware requirements.

The SEED 2026 exam will be conducted in an online proctored mode. So, there is no option to select or change exam centres.
At the time of filling out the SEED 2026 application form, the candidate doesn't need to select any exam centre.
Candidates may note that the 1st phase of the SEED entrance exam includes written tests. If the candidate gets shortlisted, then hr or she has to next appear in a Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) round.

The exam conducting body i.e. SIU of Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) is responsible for allocating/ assigning the exam centre to the candidate. It may be noted that the SEED 2025 exam will be administered in an online proctored mode. So, the candidate will not be allocated an exam centre. Instead, the candidate will be able to take the written exams from a place of choice.
The details related to the online exam will be uploaded on the SID admission portal - sid.edu.in. The candidate needs to carefully go through the exam guidelines.

SEED 2026 exam will be administered in an online proctored mode. So, there is no question of changing an exam center.
Also, the candidate is not required to select an exam centre for SEED 2025 when filling out the application form. It is because the candidate can take the SEED 2025 exam from the comfort of their homes or a place of their picking. To take the SEED 2025 written exam, the candidate will need a laptop, webcam, and must meet other software and internet requirements.

The SEED 2026 exam will be conducted in an online proctored mode. So, candidates are not required to select exam entres for appearing in the exam.
In previous editions, when the exam was held in centre-based mode, the candidate had to select their options at the time of filling out the SEED applcation form. The candidates had to select three exam centres in the order of priority.
On the day of the SEED 2026 exam, the candidate needs to keep ready their admit cards and ID. Also, the candidate must be ready with their laptops, webcams, and other accessories to take the exam.
