For NITs you should have a percentile of around 97 percent in JEE mains for open category and for any engineering college in India for a open category student it is mandatory to get a percentile of over 90 to get into software based course in the college.

Hello Rosette Ferrera, the procedure for admission to engineering colleges in Maharashtra including Mumbai is very simple. Students are required to apply directly to the college where they are seeking admission. They must of course score the minimum marks required in their examination which is equivalent to 12th. Normally 5% of seats are reserved for NRI students. Best wishes to you.

Hello Palak, these days except Tamilnadu all other states have done or the other entrance exam to admit students in engineering colleges. However some deemed to be universities give admissions to rank holders in state boards without any exam. So this is one way for you. Alternatively yo can go abroad for engineering graduation. But let me ask you. What are you afraid? If you study well for your 12th exam then cracking entrance exam is very simple and easy. Best wishes to you.

Placements are really great. You just need to maintain grades (min 60%-70% or 6.0- 7 CGPA ), CU is really good for CSE students as the placement for each and every students they give the opportunity with some rules that are bit disappointing, but if you crack the interview in any of the companies which aren't soo tough you can easily get placed.
