Master Programmes
There is no age bar for applying to the Masters Programmes in NIFT. Eligibility for Masters Programmes Design, Management and TechnologyDesign: M. Des (Master of Design)
Candidates must have successfully completed any of the following:
Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognised by law in India or
Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID. Note: Master of Design (M. Des. ) is an advanced course that demands an understanding of fundamentals in design and presupposes that candidates would be familiar with the basic skills and theories for successful completion of the programme. The course would not provide any basic knowledge and skill development in design as a part of its Master programme. Management : M. F. M (Master of Fashion Management)
Candidates must have successfully completed any of the following:
Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognised by law in India
Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID
Technology : M. F. Tech. (Master of Fashion Technology)
Candidates must have successfully completed any of the following:
B. F. Tech. from NIFT
B.E / B.Tech. from any Institute / University recognised by law in India. IMPORTANT NOTE
Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2018 are also eligible to apply. They will be required to produce proof of having acquired necessary qualifications by the time of counselling or admission. For details please see the prospectus. RESERVATION OF SEATS
The seats reserved for various categories in each programme are as under:
Scheduled Castes 15%
Scheduled Tribes 7.5%
Other Backward Communities (non creamy) 27%
Persons With Disability (PWD) 5% (horizontal reservation cutting across categories)
Foreign Nationals/ SAARC/NRI 15% (supernumerary)
State Domiciles 20% (supernumerary)
The qualifying candidates need to meet the eligibility and admission requirements of NIFT. Details of seats available category wise can be seen in the Prospectus. Campus and programme will be allotted on rotation, at NIFTs discretion.

Apart from these courses, you can also take up some specialized courses in institutions such as NIIT, Aptech etc. Also, it is better to have some recognized certification such as Oracle, Microsoft, etc. On specific areas like programming, database, networking and hardware. Computer Science Engineer:
It is a division of engineering which involves the principles and techniques of both computer Science and electronics engineering. It includes testing and designing of computer components. After completing degree in Computer Science, graduates in this field can work as technical administrators or researchers in different computer industries. The majority of graduates in this field pursue their career as a project leaders, junior programmer and system analysts etc.

The three programs have common elements:
They all stress an understanding of both digital hardware and software, though to varying degrees, and they all hone student's problem-solving skills. As well, graduates of all three programs may compete for some of the same jobs. However, the programs have different objectives. Computer Engineering (CE) deals with designing, developing, and operating computer systems. At its core, Computer Engineering concentrates on digital hardware devices and computers, and the software that controls them. Advanced courses focus on standard designs and techniques for specific application domains. In contrast to CS and SE, Computer Engineering emphasizes solving problems in digital hardware and at the hardware-software interface. Computer Science CS focuses on understanding, designing, and developing programs and computers. At its core, Computer Science concentrates on data, data transformation, and algorithms. Advanced courses present specialized programming techniques and specific application domains. The CS programme is less structured than the CE and SE programs, giving students more flexibility to build depth or breadth in a variety of application domains or in the fundamentals of Computer Science. Software Engineering (SE) deals with building and maintaining software systems. It is more software-oriented and has a greater emphasis on large software applications than Computer Engineering. It is more applied than Computer Science, placing greater emphasis on the entire software development process, from idea to final product. It is also more disciplined than Computer Science, applying more systematic practices to help ensure that products are reliable and safe. Hope this will help you.
