Its better to do CSE in UPES because there are good placements in UPES in comparison to SRM. And a huge possibility of a government. Job.

Yes, SRM is one of the best college placed 35 among all the engineering colleges in India. Student get decent placement record in last few years. SRM has collaboration with many college for better internship and overall development.

If you are interested in setting up a career in marketing or finance, SRM is a good place for you to do MBA. We do get some good companies like:
Deloitte for finance -16 students - Rs. 5.35 lakhs per year.
TCS BPS- HR - 1 student - Rs 5.5 lakhs.
Abbot Health Care - Marketing - 5 students - Rs 5.53 lakhs.
Idea - Marketing - 4 Students (approximately. )- Rs. 5 lakhs.
Royal Bank of Scotland- Finance - 43 Students (Forty-Three) - Just 2.2 lakhs.

Your question is incomplete, as you haven't mentioned about the stream of engineering for the placement comparison. It is quite an important factor as the Institute's placement varies according them. However, if BE in Computer Science & Engineering is considered, the comparison can be like
BITS>Manipal University>VIT>UPES>SRM>KIIT.
