Let us face the reality here, when you step in south there are only a handful good engineering colleges in south India, those being IIT MADRAS, TRICHY, ANNA University, VIT, SRM, and a few more. If you happen to land up in any other college then first of all you lack exposure as there colleges have students from all regions of India. For getting off in the fee, you need to crack the SRMJEEE (exam conducted by the college) according to your rank cut off you will get the discount in fees and it also depends on your choice of course because different courses are having different fees.

Hello Jagadishkumar,
The minimum academic qualification required for admission is that the candidate should possess a
PG degree/ PG Diploma recognized by the respective statutory bodies for pursuing research.
The admission is based on the written and oral examinations conducted after the approval of your application by the Chairpersons of the Department Research Coordination Committee (DRCC).
So you need to submit your application and then you will be notified about the other procedures.
