BIT Bangalore admission to the first year BE courses is through three modes viz. Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET), Comed-K and Management quota. The lateral entry admission of diploma students to second-year BE is only through diploma KCET. Candidates who have passed Class 12 or any other examination to apply for BE. Aspirants must have scored a minimum of 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Bio-Technology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination. BIT offers state-of-the-art infrastructure and world-class facilities for students. The facilities include hostels, laboratories, Wi-Fi, a bank, a shopping centre, a canteen, a stationery shop, an ATM, a gym and fitness centre, a post office, a guest house, parking facilities, and analytical facilities. Library: The central library of the institute is equipped with quality books, journals and magazines of national and international level. Bangalore Institute of Technology department has many sections such as the digital library, reference section, issue section and reading room.

Canteen: BIT Banglore college canteen is one of the most happening places on the campus. It is known for its savoury food, but it is also the place where students make some of the best memories of their college life. On the BIT campus, one can find two canteens at the main entrance and the back entrance catering to all possible varieties of food. Both the canteens are hygienic and well-maintained.

Hostel: BIT Boy's hostel was started in the year 1982 with an intake of 250 students. Later a new block was constructed there by increasing the capacity to 350 students. The hostel is equipped with 136 rooms with an overall accommodation of 385. Students from all over the country utilise the hostel facility. The hostel has got all the basic amenities for the students like food (Both North and South Indian food), a reading room, a TV room, a well-equipped gym facility with a trainer, centralised mineral water plant, solar water heater, washing machines and many more. The following fee structure is given below:

• Fresh admission: INR 1,10,000/-
• Second year onwards: INR 95000/-

NSS: BIT Banglore activities of NSS mainly focused on technology transfer to rural masses and helping the rural youth create job opportunities through conducting different types of training programmes.

Bank: BIT Banglore has a Canara Bank branch and ATM counter on the campus. It is on the first floor of the main building. Students can open an account easily by fulfilling the common requirements of the bank.

Health Centre: BIT Banglore provides primary health facilities to students. The students also have access to the KIMS hospital which is also housed in the same campus.
