Getting CSE at SRM with a rank of 40439 is going to be tough. Last year, the cutoff for CSE was super high, like around 10,000 for the main campus. Even other campuses were tough at 20,000.
But hey, there's a little hope! Official cutoffs for this year aren't out yet, and they might be a bit lower. Also, SRM has different campuses, so you might have a shot at one with a lower cutoff. Also, explore other engineering branches at SRM or see if other universities accepting your exam scores have CSE with a better cutoff for your rank.

While specific details might vary depending on the campus, they often have merit-based scholarships that could apply to your situation.
