Yes, Thapar is best place for study. Thapar Institute of Engineering and technology (deemed to be University) is one of the best and most prestigious Engineering institute in India. Thapar Institute of Engineering and technology ranked 23 in India by NIRF Government of India rankings. Thapar is the 2 best private Engineering institute in India after BITS pilani. Placement at Thapar are awesome. Almost every student gets placements who were admitted to Thapar. Average package at Thapar is around 6.5 Lacs. The highest package is 40 Lacs.

Yes, you can get admission in Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology for B.E in Computer Engineering college at this score and rank but for that you have to wait till the last round of the counselling.

If you fulfill the eligibility criteria of the specific institute you may complete further admission formalities. As the cut off Thapar Institute of Technology is high compared to other private colleges so it might be difficult for you to get admission in the civil branch of the engineering in this institute.

Yes, what you have heard about the placements of Thapar University is true, the college placements as of now is not as worthy as it is in last 4 years, and this is due to lack of good teachers.
