But yes, last year, at the end, admission to Thapar was open to all. You could get a seat in the branches available at that time.
Usually, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Civil have some seats left.

In my opinion, you should go for Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, as they provide better education, curriculum and practical learning to the students. Also if you're a curious and hard working student who is willing to invent and innovate, the institute will support you and also might fund you if your idea is really great and innovative. And this is the best part of being at TIET (Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology). Thapar University is a private college so your category is not considered, everyone is considered as general, so for getting any good branches, you will have to score around 150-160 marks in JEE Mains.

At Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, you can apply for undergraduate engineering programmes with 73 marks in JEE Mains if you have 60% in PCM. You can apply on their website www.thapar.edu, their last date is 20th May.
