• University degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree, or an equivalent polytechnic/university of applied Science degree) completed in English in India.

Candidates can also prove their English language skills with the language skills level test for University of Helsinki applicants. This test comprises of the following sections: Reading Comprehension, Grammar & Vocabulary, Writing and Oral Skills. The minimum requirement for the same is Average skills level 5 (C1), when using a scale from 1 to 6.

Yes, an Indian student can secure an admission in Aberystwyth University without IELTS/TOEFL since the university accepts country specific language qualifications. If an Indian student can fulfill the grade requirements listed below, they do not need to submit English language proficiency exam scores.

• Undergraduate students: Minimum of 70% in English at XII standard level if awarded by CBSE or CISCE central boards, or West Bengal, Karnataka and Maharashtra state boards within 5 years of the proposed course start date.
• Postgraduate students: Minimum of 70-80% in English at XII standard level if awarded by CBSE or CISCE central boards, or West Bengal, Karnataka and Maharashtra state boards within 5 years of the proposed course start date.

If a student does not meet the above listed criteria according to the choice of degree, they also have the option to meet Aberystwyth University's English language requirements through the successful completion of the university's International Foundation Certificate and Pre-Sessional Courses.

Saarland University requires all international applicants to prove the results of a standardized aptitude test and English language skills by means of a recognised language certificate (IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge) in order to secure an admission in the university. Also, as an alternative to the aptitude test, successful participation in an international science/computer science/mathematics Olympiad can also be provided as an additional qualification in addition to English language skills. However, if one is unable to provide an additional qualification, then they can apply to participate in an online, oral university entrance test (interview). Students must note that the seats for interview may be limited. Hence, students must submit their application by June 15.
