You could not apply for Asst. Professor until you have done Ph.D. or qualified the exam. You need to clear the exam and then apply for post. However, apart from it you can apply for lectureship and JRF simultaneously.

Before apply for the NTA UGC NET, you must fulfill the eligibility criteria i.e
1. You should have secured minimum 55% marks in your PG.
2. Not more than 30 years of age if applying for JRF and there is no age limit for the post of an Assistant Professor.

As per the NTA guidelines, only one application is to be submitted by a candidate.
NTA UGC NET exam will held in the month of June on he following dates; 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27 & 28 June 2019. Online application form window for June session is open till 30th March 2019 and last date to pay online is 1st April 2019.
