Here are some of the eligibility criteria before appearing in the National Eligibility Test which you must follow:
The university and college by which you have completed Master's degree must be a recognised university by UGC or it must be UGC approved. There is no age related criteria or limit in the UGC NET exam for lectureship posts.
You must complete Masters or post graduation with at least 55 % marks (50% marks for female and reserved category candidates).
Candidates in the final year of the Master's degree programme may also appear in the National Eligibility Test if they have given the final year exam and waiting for the results to be announced soon.

Candidates have to qualify UGC NET exam to pursue for Ph.D. The UGC NET exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency NTA from December 2018, earlier it was organized by the CBSE. Candidates should have minimum 55% aggregate marks in Masters' if they belong to General category or minimum 50% aggregate marks if they are from OBC/SC/ST/PwD category. Aspirants must also follow age criteria for NET JRF I. e. 30 years. Reserved categories get the 5 years age relaxation. For Assistant Professor there is no age criteria.
