Yes, you can apply for UGC NET exam, if your Diploma/degree/certificate from a foreign university is equivalent to a Masters degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. But to appear for the exam, you need to score minimum 55% aggregate marks (For General) or 50% aggregate marks (For OBC/SC/ST/PwD) in post-graduation. UGC NET exam is conducted for 84 different subjects including sociology. To be eligible for NET exam, you should complete Masters degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks (5% relaxation available for other than general category). The UGC NET Exam is conducted every year in the month of June and December. The December month exam dates are out, the exam is from 18th Dec to 22nd Dec 2018. Now if we talk about the eligibility of the candidates for the UGC NET Exam- https://www.eduncle.com/cbse-ugc-net-exam then the candidates completed the Masters or post-graduation in the subject with atleast 55 % marks must apply for the National Eligibility Test (50% marks for the reserved category candidates).

For being eligible in the UGC NET Exam, you must complete the Masters programme in the Subject in which you want to make career. The Lectureship Exam is held every year and many candidates appear in this exam. Candidates those who want to make career in the lectureship and Research programme must prepare and appear for the National Eligibility test. The UGC NET Exam is conducted in the month of June and December month usually. Now if we talk about the Eligibility than the candidates are eligible for the UGC NET Exam, if they have completed the Masters or post-graduation in the Law with at least 55% marks (50 % marks if Reserved CAT. The UGC NET Exam is conducted for the students aspiring to make career in the lectureship and Research programme. You are eligible to appear in the UGC NET Exam by completing the post graduation in Pharmacy. There are some eligibility criteria for this.
