There are many changes made this year in UGC NET Examination. The candidates who are going to appear for the UGC NET exam must know all the changes and updates. The NTA which is also known as national testing agency will be the exam conducting authority from December 2018 for UGC NET IIT JEE and NEET. The UGC NET exam is scheduled from 18 to 22 December and the admit card for the same will be released on 19 November 2018. If we talk about the changes: The UGC NET exam will include two papers only. Paper 1 will be common for all subjects while paper 2 consists subject oriented questions only. Paper 1 will be held for the 1 hour for 50 questions while paper 2 hours will be held for 2 hour for 100 questions. The paper will be in online mode only. The syllabus is same as the previous one where syllabus of paper 2 and 3 will be include in paper 2. Hope it will help you. All the best.

Hi Sayyada, The NET exam is organized for more than 84 subjects through UGC NET and CSIR NET. The Science stream candidates can apply for CSIR NET while other stream candidate can apply for UGC NET. The purpose of both exam is same that is to determine the eligibility of the candidates for assistant professor [posts in colleges and to pursue Ph.D. and for junior research fellowship. Of course, the NET will be helpful for admission in Ph.D. The NET qualified candidates are allowed to apply for the lectureship, research or Ph.D. without any exam and selected based on personal interview. Yes, you can apply for the NET exam if you complete the post-graduation within 2 years of qualifying the NET exam. The NET Exam is held to determine candidates for assistant professor posts in colleges and university and for junior research fellowship awards. UGC NET exam is held for the arts, commerce and other stream candidates while CSIR NET exam is held for the Science stream students for the same purpose. The minimum eligibility to apply for the NET Exam is post-graduation degree for the recognised university with more than 55% marks. However, B.Tech final year candidates can also apply for the same, but they will get the NET certificate after completing the UGC NET exam.
