Yes, you are eligible for the UGC NET Exam. The eligibility for the exam is as follows;
The candidates must have post graduation degree with 55% marks from recognised university. There is no age limit for the assistant professor post. Paper-I would have general aptitude test, which consists of sections like Reasoning Ability, Comprehension Reading, Mental Ability, and General Awareness etc. There will be 50 questions each of two marks. As per the UGC NET Exam Pattern 2018 Exam, the candidates must attempt all the 50 questions. Paper-II will have 100 compulsory MCQ (Multiple choices with single correct answer) questions each of two marks. Paper-II covers entire syllabus of the subject selected by the candidate.

Surely, you can apply for UGC NET Exam. The Notification for 2018 is out and the exam is on 8th July whereas the application has begin.
The NET Exam pattern is changed from 2018. The exam would be conducted in two phases from now
Phase 1 & Phase 2
Phase 1 is the Aptitude Test conducted for all students and is common for all
Paper 2 is the Subject wise exam and is conducted in the Subject chosen by the candidate
