Hello Bhawar, Here I am sharing a little information about UGC NET. UGC NET is a national level exam which is conducted for the determination of the lecturer at the university and JRF award. The NET Qualified candidates are eligible for the higher studies like Ph.D. The minimum eligibility criteria to apply for the UGC NET is post graduation degree from the recognised university. Previously the NET exam was conducted by CBSE on the behalf of UGC. Now the UGC NET Exam will be conducted by the national testing agency. The Candidates must be below 30 years old to apply for the UGC NET JFR while there are no age limit criteria for the UGC NET Lectureship. The online application form for the UGC NET December 2018 will be released on 1 September and the candidates can fill the form till 30 September. You can fill the online application form for the December 2018 NET exam. The exam will be held from 2 December to 16 December in the different session. The candidates can choose the session according to their choice.

Yes, you have to qualify the NET exam in order to become an assistant professor. The CSIR NET Exam is conducted for the Science stream candidates while UGC NET exam is conducted for the other stream candidates. The NET exam was conducted by CBSE which will be conducted by NTA from December 2018. The minimum eligibility is post graduation degree which you fulfill already. The CSIR NET exam is conducted for the life Science, Chemical Science, physical Science, Earth Science and mathematical Science. You may also apply for UGC NET pharmacy.
The candidates are allowed to apply for the subject of their Master's degree or its related subject.

UGC NET 2018 Eligibility
Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in their Masters degree exams (in streams such as Humanities, Social Science, Electronic Science, Computer Science & Applications, etc. ). From a UGC recognised college/ university fulfill UGC NET 2018 eligibility criteria. It may be noted minimum percentage required to meet UGC NET eligibility criteria for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD categories is 50%. Candidates who are appearing or awaiting results for their final year examination of Masters degree are also eligible to appear for UGC NET 2018. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and will be considered for JRF and Assistant Professor or Assistant Professor only when they pass their Masters exams with required percentage. Such candidates must complete their PG degree examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified, informs the official website.
