According to a review shared by a  graduate of University of Cincinnati here are some pros and cons of the university.

• Coursework (graduate): The information is mostly related to the graduates of the university

1. Pros: Fairly easy to handle courses, fewer exams, and in most of the cases, easy assignments.
2. Cons: professors are unresponsive, too many students, and in some cases, the course syllabus is very basic.

• Return on investment:

1. Pros: All graduate students, local and international, mostly end up finding a job, even though it might take a while.
2. Cons: The location basically hinders one's chances of getting a job sooner, given that Ohio is a short on technical jobs.

• Study-Life balance:

1. Pros: As mentioned by the student earlier, the coursework is comparatively easy, which gives you a pretty decent chance to have fun.
2. Cons: If you are a thesis student (MS-Research), you might find it slightly difficult, especially because, you wouldn't want to delay your thesis.

• Misc:

1. Pros: UC boasts of an amazing Campus Recreation Center, a great football stadium, and a wonderful basketball arena. We have buildings that are architecturally brilliant, especially because most of them are connected, internally

According to few graduates of University of CIncinnati, the university campus is a safe area but one should always keep in mind that precaution is better than cure. UC has a dedicated department for Public Safety which works for the safety of all the students and also a University of Cincinnati Police Department (UCPD) which is a 24-hour service and often seen around campus patrolling.

When you join UC, you are automatically subscribed to e-mails and Safety Alerts from UCPD. For a new student, these alerts might seem a bit intimidating but by following certain rules and precautionary measures (which are applicable everywhere in the US), you can stay safe:

• Stay away from unsafe areas. There are certain areas around the campus, where crime is more predominant than others –watch out for these areas and avoid these when you are doing your housing search. You may wish to contact some existing students at UC to get details about this
• Avoid walking alone during night. Walk in group – use the car service provided by UC - UC Night Ride which operates between 8 pm and 12 am (2 am on certain days) and is free for UC students
• Make sure to lock your windows and doors before leaving the apartment. Duh!
• Try to get an apartment on top floor rather than ground floor. 

With proper caution and care, you should be fine and would have an enjoyable experience at University of Cincinnati. Good Luck!
