Both the universities – McGill University and the University of Toronto are great universities and the decision to choose between these universities is dependent on personal preferences.

  • University of Toronto's admissions standards are somewhat lower than McGill University, particularly for programs like Business
  • McGill students tend to have a stronger sense of school pride / spirit
  • McGill is much more diverse especially if you look beyond students from India and China

In the case of graduate programs, the decision on the application will vary by graduate unit, and is affected by the number of applications received. Some early offers of admission are sent out in January or February,  but, the majority of offers normally come in March. Generally, the University of Toronto advises applicants to expect a response by April,  although decisions continue to be made after this too.
