For admission to Toronto Uni undergraduate courses, the applicants should have the following:

  • All Indian Senior School Certificate (awarded by CBSE) or Indian School Certificate (awarded by CISCE)
  • Year 12 state board exams with outstanding results will also be considered on an individual basis
  • CBSE students who want to study programs that require Calculus for admission such as Business, Engineering, and Science must present Class 12 Mathematics for admission. Note that Class 12 Applied Mathematics (new and old syllabus) will not meet the Calculus requirement

The University of Toronto Ontario MS in CS admission requirements are given below:

  • An undergraduate degree for the concentration the applicants are applying to
  • A standing of at least B+ (77-79%) in the final year
  • English language proficiency
  • Work experience is preferred but not required
  • Research experience is preferred but not required
  • Copies of all the academic transcripts
  • CV / resume
  • Answers to the programme questions addressing the interest in their preferred concentrations and the objective to the program
  • 3 letters of recommendation

The applicants who have not gained a degree from a Canadian University are encouraged to submit GRE scores. Note that the GRE score submission is not mandatory but will be taken as substitute where academic grades do not meet the eligibility requirements. International students are required to submit the GRE score. Average scores are within the 80th percentile for Verbal (158+) and 95th percentile for Quantitative (168+).

For the Sep 2024 start date, the Uni of Toronto fees for the entire duration of the MSc in CS programme which is 16 months is approximately CAD 77,800. Also, students have to take care of their living expenses. This is equivalent to INR 47 lakh. To reduce the tuition fee, international students may be eligible to apply from international student loan companies such as Prodigy Finance and MPOWER Financing.

Uni of Toronto has one of the most competitive acceptance rates in Canada. University of Toronto acceptance rate is around 54%. The university itself has mentioned that admission to the university is quite competitive. The applicants are considered as per their academic history; some programs need supplementary applications, auditions or profiles. The university recommends that the applicants apply early and submit all the necessary documents as early as possible.

According to the statistics for Fall 2023-24, Uni of Toronto student enrollment is over 99,000. Out of this, over 29,000 students are international. More than 5,500 are graduate students and over 23,000 are undergraduate students. The university accepts Indian students. The top 5 countries of origin of students include China, India, the US, South Korea and Hong Kong. Indian student enrollment at the university is over 2,500.

The University of Toronto has 3 vibrant campuses located in the Greater Toronto area; St. George; Mississauga and Scarborough. Toronto Uni St. George Campus has over 120 buildings on 130 acres of land. The Scarborough campus comprises 37 buildings across 303 acres. On the other hand, the university’s Mississauga campus consists of 51 buildings on 221 acres. According to the student enrollment statistics as of Fall 2023, the total enrollment is 99,000.
