The education and training requirements vary based on position and company. There are Universities and Colleges in the Public as well as private sector offering Courses in Tourism and Travel Management. Then there are Vocational Institutions imparting the Tourism Diploma and Post-Graduate Diploma.
There is a skill set that is a mandate for aspirants of T& T Industry:-leadership
-team working
-problem solving-communication skills, with a strong customer focus;-IT skills
-ability to research
-presentation skills
-ability to work to deadlines.

The requirement of certificates/degree or qualification of any sort entirely depends on the profile & industry that you wish to pursue.
The basic eligibility in the tourism industry at large is at least a graduation in any field.
In some cases one needs to have some qualification to be able to fulfill one' job responsibilities and increase chances of selection such as:
-Reservation Agent-needs qualification with knowledge of software
-Chef- needs qualification with knowledge of various kitchen procedures & cooking method etc

Although the syllabus differs in colleges/Institutions and also depends on the specialization or the type of course that you pursue i.e degree, diploma, certificate.

TO fare well in this industry you can pursue BBA in Travel, tourism and hospitality , look for good colleges like UTM, NITHM ,Surajmal these are good colleges. There are many types of courses available on Travel & Tourism industry, like there is certificate programes offered by institutes like YMCA and then there are also degree programmes like BBA in hospitality travel and tourism. If you are looking forward to do Travel and tourism related studies, then i would always suggest you to take up the degree course that is BBA in hospitality travel and tourism rather than the certificate programe. The certificate is just a mere training, but the Degree course will give you an indepth knowledge and better understanding plus the degree applicants for a job is always given the top priority and position. I would suggest you to go for a BBA in hospitality tours and travel from good institutions like UTM, Asian academy of FIlm television, YMCA as these colleges have very good placement and courses.All the best
