You can get any branch, if you have money to pay. VIT university is one of the top universities in India and is no different from the rest of the private universities when it comes to the admission. Basically, VIT university separates the students according to their ranks VITEEE ranks) for the admission. To my knowledge there are 4 categories as follows
People with less than 20k rank. Named merit candidates. Ample of chances to get your deserved branch with no donation. Tentative fee is 10lakhs ( for 4 years including hostel)
And yes here Mechanical, Electronics and communications and Computer Science are the top branches. And you need to get a rank less than 10k to opt any of these.

Basically, there is no concession available based on VITEEE rank. Only state toppers are provided with full fee waiver. And also VIT has a scheme called STAR Students only for Tamil Nadu students. Two toppers (1 boy, 1 girl) from each district of Tamil Nadu are directly admitted into VIT with fee waiver. According to the rank secured, you will fall into different categories of fees. Later, a scholarship scheme is available only for economically weaker students. For this you will have to qualify the following conditions:
1) Student should be meritorious and should have scored good GPA continuously.
2) Family income should be less than 1.5 lacs. You will have to provide required documents like income Certificate etc. whas to be approved by the faculty coordinator, programme Chair and Dean. Then it will be forwarded for further scrutiny.
3) I do not know how many students have received this scholarship.

Physics: Properties of Matter, Electro-statistics, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Current, Laws of Motion Current Electricity Dual Nature of Radiation and Atomic Physics Optics Work, Energy, and Power, Magnetic Effects of Electric Current, Nuclear Physics Semiconductor Devices, and their Applications. Chemistry Carboxylic Acids and their Derivatives, Isomerism in Organic Compounds, p block elements, d and f Block Elements, Carbonyl Compounds, Coordination Chemistry and Solid State Chemistry Thermodynamics Chemical Equilibrium and Chemical Kinetics, Alcohols and Ethers, Electro-chemistry, Atomic Structure, Organic Nitrogen Compounds, and Biomolecules. Eligibility Criteria: Students must have passed 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 60 percent in Physics Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology in the qualifying examination for the general category and a minimum of 50 percent is required for the SC, ST, and students hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North-Eastern states of Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. For Indian nationals, Non-Resident Indians, or Persons of Indian Origin cardholders, appearance in the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination-2023 is mandatory to be eligible for Bachelor of Technology admission.
