MIT-WPU, which ranks in the 101-150 rank band in the NIRF University category, has the lowest fee range among the top private universities in Pune. It has a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Applied Statistics and Data Analytics course, which is for INR 2.2 Lacs in tuition.

According to NIRF 2025, the No. 1 university in Pune is Symbiosis International, and it ranks 24th, offering an MSc in Biotechnology course.

In the QS World University Rankings,  UNIPUNE - SPPU scores the 566th rank among 1500 universities in the world - above Symbiosis. It offers several BSc programmes in Physics.

Savitribai Phule Pune University is a public state university in Pune. It is ranked 56 under the "University" category as per the NIRF Ranking 2025. BSc & MBA are the flagship courses at the university. It is recognised by UGC & is a AIU member. It has a good reputation. Overall it is a well known university in terms of palcements, faculty, infrastructure, etc.

While government colleges like SPPU have a massive reputation that attracts legacy recruiters, MIT SOES often provides more personalized placement support and grooming sessions. However, because MIT is private, you might find more "niche" tech companies visiting, whereas government colleges rely on their long-standing brand name to pull in the big giants.

Yes, DES Pune University does have an entrance exam of its own. The university conducts DESPU CET for UG and PG programmes separately. These are DESPU UCET and DESPU PCET respectively.
