Becoming a pilot and becoming an aeronautical engineer are two entirely different career fields, change over from one to another is not possible. To become pilot, you need to obtain Commercial Pilot license (CPL) or join Indian Air Force. Both can be done after completing 12th with Mathematics, Physics and English as subjects. Candidates who want to pursue Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course should have completed 10+2 with at least 50 per cent marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Aircraft maintenance engineering is not a degree or diploma program, but it is a training programme. After the successful completion of the training, a license is issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). B.Tech in aeronautical is a better choice than AME. There is no particular entrance exam for AME.
