Both Aeronautical and Petroleum engineering are niche degrees with major opportunities in Government and Public Sector Units. Opportunities in both the field are similar. Currently because of international oil price crash Petroleum industry is in bit of crisis worldwide. However I feel it's a temporary phenomenon. If both subject are of equal interest to you, choose your specialization based on Institute brand image, ranking and placement record.

Aeronautical Engineering is good option for both boys and girls. You have a role model in Kalpana Chawla. Kalpana Chawla was the first woman of Indian origin in space. She was a masters in aerospace engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington USA.

Hi Arif,
Aeronautical Engineering is a high precision field. The precision tolerance levels are so stringent that a nano level error can bring down a flight.
But this doesn't mean that your eyesight should matter. It just means that your skills and work should be that good. There are so many digital measurement instruments, too, that can help you avoid parallax errors.
However, if you are planning to become a pilot or a maintenance/inspection engineer, then, eyesight poses a problem.
I hope it helps. Please feel free to revert.
Wish you luck.
