The programme balances theory, practical work, and creative projects, so you get to learn everything from design basics to advanced architecture techniques. You also get hands-on experience in studios, workshops, and live projects, which really helps in understanding how architecture works in the real world. If someone wants to go deeper, the Master of Architecture (M.Arch) is available for two years, focusing on specialization. Five years might sound long, but it's perfect for building conf

The Architecture course at Chandigarh University is designed really thoughtfully. It's a five-year B.Arch programme and a two-year M.Arch program, structured so that students gradually move from basic concepts to advanced skills. In the first years, you focus on drawing, design fundamentals, and building materials, which helps build a strong foundation. As you progress, the curriculum includes 3D modeling, VFX for architecture, digital software training like AutoCAD and Revit, and live projects, so you learn to apply your ideas practically.

Absolutely, either NATA or JEE Paper 2 (B.Arch Aptitude Test) is compulsory for admission into Chandigarh University's architecture program. Even if a student has scored well in 12th or diploma, the aptitude test cannot be skipped because it is mandated by the Council of Architecture. The GATE paper pattern for Architecture and Planning (AR) is as follows -

  • The general aptitude section carries 15 marks
  • The part A of GATE AR consists of 60 marks and part B carries 25 marks
  • The Part B of the GATE AR paper is divided into two parts, where B1 is the architecture and B2 is the planning.

Candidates must go through the exam pattern carefully, as it helps a lot in the preparation and revision process.

BArch and BDes are both great options and are different mostly in terms of their overall focus. While BArch is all about architecture- designing buildings, planning spaces, and working on construction projects, a BDes course will focus on the more creative side of design. It covers a wide range of design fields, such as graphic, product, fashion, etc. Choosing a course will depend on your interest, aptitude, and aspiration.
