Automobile and Automotive engineering are interconnected branches dealing with motor vehicles.
Automotive engineering deals with the overall development of a vehicle, from design to production and maintenance. Automobile engineering deals with the design of cars. In terms of degree equivalence, both are almost the same. Following are the major difference between Automobile and Automotive
(a) Automobile refers to all passenger vehicles having engine and moving on their wheels on road
(b) However, most people think of cars whenever the word automobile is used
(c) Automotive is anything related to automobiles. So a brake fluid is said to be for automotive use
(d) Automotive industry is a bigger word that encompasses all designers, manufacturers, marketers, sellers and even repairing shops and fuelling stations.
You are advised to do B.Tech Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. You can do M.Tech Automobile Engineering after B.Tech Mechanical Engineering.
