SAP is the worlds largest selling Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) software system. For implementation of SAP you require ABAB developers and functional consultants. If you want to make career in Technical then you may learn ABAB and do certifications. In case you want to be a functional specialist, you can do one of more functional module certification. SAP professionals are paid above normal developers and Business Analysts. With SAP certifications you can join IT companies or IT department of business enterprises.
Based on your experience in QC it is suggested that you evaluate doing following modules SAP QM or SAP PP or SAP MM module where you can use your experience to become functional consultant.
(a) SAP QM ( Quality Management ) is a functional module to improve the quality of goods.This module deals with Quality Planning, Execution, Inspections, Quality Control and Quality Certificates.
(b) SAP PP is one the important module inSAP system. It handles all business process related to production of a company. InSAP R/3 system modular data is classified as master data and transaction data where the master data is defined as the individual module objects.
(c) SAP MM (Material Management) is a functional module that t is used for Procurement Handling and Inventory Management. SAP MM is one the largest functional module in SAP. This module mainly deals with the Procurement Process, Master Data (Material & Vendor Master), Inventory Management, Valuation of Material & Account Determination, Material Requirement Planning, Invoice Verification etc. SAP MM is integrated with other modules such as SD, PP and QM. Materials management is used for procurement and inventory management.
You can begin with SAP QM and then move to SAP PP.
