As an entering first-year student, you'll declare a journalism and mass communication interest as your major for advising assignments and course selection. If you are a first-year student, then you are eligible for the university honors programme. You will get admission to the major as long as you complete the two pre-major foundation courses.

It depends upon what you want to do in your life, what career you want to pursue and what role the degree is going to play in your career decision. If you want to do teaching or have interest in civil service examination, then you can do MA. But, if you want to change your industry & want to work in corporate and have interest in management, then you should definitely pursue MA.
