B.Des

Bachelor of Design (B.Des) in Industrial Design is a 4-year full time (or equivalent part-time) undergraduate course. The programme is divided into 8 semesters of six months each. The course is best suited for those who are interested in seeking a career in anything from marketing companies to government agencies. Having a Bachelors in industrial design opens the gateway to being a product designer, industrial designer researcher, art director, desktop publisher, etc. One may work in industries including media, public relations, communications, education and business. Projects in this line of work include designing products ranging from devices like mobile phones and computers, or even furniture and fashion magazines, or movies. Any design course fundamentally caters to those creatively inclined and left-brain oriented, equipping them with the necessary skills to make a career out of essentially thinking outside the box.

The admission process is as below.
Eligibility
Essential:A candidate must have passed 10+2 (any stream; eg. Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.) or equivalent OR 10+3 diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% aggregate marks obtained in the final examination to be eligible for the above-mentioned program. A candidate appearing for the final examination of 10+2 grade or 10+3 Diploma program may also apply provided the results of the examination should have been declared by June of the admission year or prior to be eligible for the above mentioned program.
Admission Procedure for the First Year
For Indian Students
All Indian students are required to take the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED 2018), which will be held on May 5, 2018 (Saturday). No candidate is entitled to seek admission to SID without a valid SEED score.

Admission to B. Des program of SID will be according to the following process.
Level 1 Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) 2018. The result of SEED will be put up on the SET website as per the schedule. If a candidate qualifies SEED 2018, he/she would be eligible to appear for SIDs Studio Test and Personal Interaction. Shortlisting for admission will be based only by Preference 1 selected during online registration. Level 2 Studio Test and Personal Interaction will be conducted only at SID, Pune campus from 28th May to 1st June 2018.
Final selection would be based on the cumulative performance of the candidate in Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), Studio Test and Personal Interaction as well as on the basis of the information provided by the candidate in the application form and his/her first preference of the disciplines offered."
