For a full-time BTech course, the student needs to pass Class 12 with a 45% aggregate with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects for Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Physics, and Chemistry and Mathematics for Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. The eligibility criteria for BTech Lateral Entry is a passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate in case of applicants belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the first year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are drained.

For IIITDM Kancheepuram BTech admission, candidates must have passed Class 12 (Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology as an optional subject) with at least 75% aggregate. Additionally, admission to NIT Nagaland for its four-year BTech course is subject to a valid score in JEE Main followed by JoSAA Counselling.
