BTech at NIT Rourkela is a course of four-year duration divided into eight semesters. The institute offers BTech in 14 specialisations, such as, BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering etc. NIT Rourkela BTech admission is based on their JEE Main score. The centralised counselling process is managed and regulated by JoSAA based on which the seat allotment is carried out. The seat allotment is based on the cutoff released by NIT Rourkela and a candidate's preference for courses and colleges. Further, the remaining vacant seats are filled through CSAB counselling. NIT Rourkela BTech-MTech (Dual Degree) Admission 2025
The institute also offers a BTech-MTech (Dual Degree) programme for five years divided into ten semesters. The course is offered in four specialisations, including Chemical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Mining Engineering.
Admission to the dual degree will be based on JEE Main score, followed by JoSAA counselling. Candidates who have passed Class 12 are eligible.

Every year, NTA conducts the JEE Main entrance exam for the selection of eligible candidates in IIT, NIT and IIITs.
