Pondicherry Engineering College (PEC), Puducherry, is a state-funded engineering college founded in 1984. Admission is offered for Bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs in various branches. PEC Puducherry admission for UG courses is completed through the Centralised Admission Committee CENTAC on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The duration of the course is 4 years.
1- First, appear in the JEE Mains examination.
2- One must go through the CENTAC application procedure after receiving a valid scorecard.
3- Fill up the CENTAC application form online along with uploading the necessary documents.
4- The marks obtained in the qualifying examination will be normalized with the marks obtained in the board examination (Tamil Nadu).
5- A merit list is released after normalizing the marks.
6- Qualifying candidates will have to go through the counseling procedure.
7- Document verification will be followed by the admission of the candidate to PEC.

The B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering is focused on providing foundational knowledge and skills to the students. This includes knowledge of core subjects as well as introductory content for advanced areas. Students learn such skills as programming, communication skills, presentation skills, teamwork, and project development, which are aimed at producing a lifelong self-learner and a good individual with a team working ability. However, the degree lacks in imparting education related to ethics and morality. Apart from IIT, top colleges for engineering are National Institute of Technology, R. V. College of Engineering, Delhi Technological University, College of Engineering Pune, UPES Dehradun, Chandigarh University, Geeta University, etc.
