  A n o d e : ( Z n Z n 2 + + 2 e ) * x

C a t h o d e : ( S n x + + x e S n ) * 2 _

Net call reaction :  x Z n + 2 S n x + x Z n 2 + + 2 S n ( n = 2 x )

Pressure of gas = pressure of moist gas – Vapour pressure of water

= 4 atm – 0.4 atm

= 3.6 atm

On doubling the volume, pressure of gas is halved :

Total pressure =  ( 3 . 6 2 + 0 . 4 ) = 2 . 2 a t m
