Hello Vishal, admissions in college of engineering Pune are given based on the performance in the entrance exam conducted by the Maharashtra government called MHT CET. For XII class, you need only obtain minimum passing score and admission is actually not based on marks obtained in this examination. Let me tell you that Niether IIT's nor NIT's have Lateral Entry Scheme into 2nd year of B.Tech. There is no such provisions into NIT's for that. Even Diploma Engineering Student who cracks AIEEE will be provided Admission to the first year of B.Tech at NIT's or IIIT's. As there is no provision for lateral entry into 2nd year. However, request was made for indroducing such provisions but has be rejected as it will effect the quality and faculty of education at NIT's.

Hello Satish, it's very nice to SEE your desire that your son should be graduate engineer after completion of his Diploma. However doing it by correspondence course is not the answer. This is so since any professional courses are banned to be conducted via distance education. Best course for your son is to aim for AMIE as he pursues his job also. This is equivalent to degree in engineering for all purposes. Best wishes to you.
