Following the NEP 2020 guidelines, the BA at University of Calicut is now a flexible 4-year course. Students can choose to exit after three years with a standard degree, but staying for the fourth year leads to a BA Honours or Honours with Research. This modern structure is quite different as it allows students more freedom to accumulate credits over eight semesters.

University of Calicut BA programme basic eligibility is as follows-
Eligibility: Open to all Class 12 streams (Science, Commerce, Humanities) with a 45-50% aggregate. Selection is strictly merit-based.
NEP 2020 Structure: A flexible 4-year programme. You can exit after 3 years with a degree or complete the 4th year for BA Honours.
Inclusivity: No upper age limit. Multiple specialisations in Literature, Journalism, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

It is not possible to apply for more than one programme in the same application form. However, for various programmes while filling the application 2nd and 3rd preference option will be available. The School of Business and Management, Christ University students may enter the preferences from the options available in the drop down. The students cannot manually enter her/his preferences on the application printout.
