SKUAST is a state agricultural university. It is affiliated to Indian Council of Agricultural Research. SKUAST Jammu does not offer direct admission. Aspirants first need to fill out the application form for the preferred course and then appear for SKUAST-J CET conducted by the university. SKUAST-J CET for UG courses is offered for a duration of three-years. For PG courses, the duration is two and a half year. Once the selection round is completed, the university releases a category-wise merit list. Shortlisted aspirants have to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.
Aspirants need to pay a non-refundable application fee to register for a course at SKUAST Jammu. The application fee for SKUAST is mentioned below:

Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu usually releases the application form in May. The application closes by June. SKUAST also opens the correct window for submitted application form in the first week of June. Aspirants can apply online once the portal opens for the preferred course.
SKUAST accepts UG, PG and PhD students on the basis of valid scores in SKUAST J CET exam. Aspirants applying through ICAT Quota are offered seats through All India Counselling by ICAR after CUET. Admission under VCI Quota is offered through NEET based on the list provided by VCI via their counselling portal.

SKUAST Jammu Placement 2022
The University has established seven career counselling and placement centres across faculties with a strength of 36 Scientists. The career counselling and placement centres with its headquarter at Shalimar perform the following major functions.
- Conducting on-campus placement melas by establishing contacts with prospective employers in private and public sector institutions
- Conducting career counselling sessions for the benefit of the student community
- Assisting the students in preparing and uploading their resumes on relevant sites in order to expose them to the relevant job market

SKUAST Jammu selects candidates for MBA based on entrance exam score and merit in the last qualifying exam. Aspirants need to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline to apply for MBA. The university also accepts national-level entrance exams such as CAT, MAT and CMAT for MBA admission. Selected candidates are further called for a group discussion and personal interview round.
SKUAST Jammu has a total intake of 176. Candidates are offered seat in BSc (Hons) based on SKUSAT-J CET score. Selected aspirants need to participate in SKUAST Counselling round. Candidates need to bring the specified documents for verification. Once the seat is allotted, aspirants have to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.
SKUAST BSc (Hons) admission 2024 is entrance-based for the academic year 2024. For Free seats and Self Financing seats (State Domicile), admissions are through:

SKUAST Jammu conducts SKUAST-J CET for admission to MSc course. The university conducts the exam for a duration of two and a half years.
