If you have done a 3-year Diploma in fashion design, you can pursue a B.Design course from NIFT through the lateral entry mode. The lateral entry mode is a special admission process for students who have already completed a Diploma or equivalent course in the same field.

To be eligible for the lateral entry mode, you must have a Diploma in fashion design from a recognised institute. You must also have a minimum of 50% marks in your diploma.

The application process for the lateral entry mode is the same as the regular admission process. You can apply online through the NIFT website.

The selection process for the lateral entry mode includes a written test, a portfolio review, and an interview. The written test will be on the basics of fashion design. The portfolio review will assess your creativity and technical skills. The interview will assess your personality and your suitability for the B.Design course.

If you are selected for the lateral entry mode, you will be admitted to the second year of the B.Design course.

Here are some other things to keep in mind if you are planning to pursue a B.Design course from NIFT through the lateral entry mode:

• The number of seats available through the lateral entry mode is limited.
• The competition for lateral entry seats is very high.
• You must have a strong portfolio and a good interview performance to be selected.
