Both are better in their own way. In CSE, there is a huge demand of skilled engineers and it is increasing every year as everything is going to be online in the future. Civil engineering is also a very good career choice as you can apply for government sector or either you can open your own firm and earn a lot. So, choice is yours. Choose the branch according to your interest and reputation of college if you take civil in any IIT or good NIT, then it is good.

I think your rank is not good enough for a well-established Engineering College. Still, search for other private institutions.

Dear,
Every branch is good in B.Tech. It totally depends on your choice. You can try for mechanical and CSE as well which is in demand these days.

The best will be the government college only, that is IIT, IIIT etc. For this you must score a high marks in JEE main and advanced in order to get a seat in this college. If you are of general category then you have to work hard. Even if you are getting the NIT then go for it. Other colleges will be BITS BITSAT, DAIICT, DU, etc.
Best of luck.
