In India, top-ranked engineering colleges often include the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) like IIT madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi along with NITs, IIITs and some private institutions like Bits Pilani, VIT. If someone is interested in private institute/ University Chandigarh University could be a good option #1 in QS Asia University Rankings 2025 (among private universities) and #20 in NIRF 2024. That means it's not just famous in Punjab but recognised all over India and even globally. CGC Jhanjeri doesn't have such rankings.

Best Engineering college to be chosen depend on multiple factors like their faculty, industry exposure an dplacements. Being in North India, I have heard a lot about Chandigarh University (CU) and I have observed it has really made a name for itself.
Chandigarh University has NAAC A+ Accreditation, QS World Rankings and ABET accreditation, which means its degree is recognised globally. The placements are impressive, with 900+ recruiters, including big names like Google, Microsoft and IBM. The highest package went upto INR 1.7Crore internationally and INR50LPA domestically.
