Since you have a strong CGPA in B.E. Chemical Engineering, You can pursue M.Tech in Chemical Engineering or related fields like Environmental, Process, or Petroleum Engineering without GATE. Private universities like BITS Pilani, VIT, and SRM offer direct admissions or conduct their own entrance exams. Some IITs/NITs also have self-sponsored seats. State entrance exams (e.g., TANCET, PGCET) are another option. Let me know if you need specific university details.

Other top research-focused options in India include IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIIT Bangalore, ISI Kolkata, and IIT Madras, all of which offer excellent opportunities in AI, ML, and advanced computing fields.
