If you belong to Tamil Nadu then you can get CSE in NIT Trichy. If not, there are less chances for you to make it to CSE branch. But you can get admission in other branches.

If you want to become an engineer not a working machine for any software company.
There is very low chance for campus placement but there are very opportunities for preparation of gate as well as PSUS.
Faculties are very good as well as supportive.
Overall college for engineering is good.

It is totally up to you. If you want than you can get good rank in JEE and go into IITS or NITs and grab the placements. Rather than take admission in any state Government College and prepare for GATE and take PSUS.
