Event Management

There is no minimum qualification requirement to become an event manager for non-corporate events. Any person with strong organizational skills and excellent PR Skills can organize non-corporate events.
However for organizing corporate events a degree/diploma in event management, PR, tourism, hospitality management, business administration or marketing is a must. This is because corporate events are organized to promote and sell company's products or services or to build/enhance its brand image.
A person with 2-3 years of work experience in the field of sales/marketing can also organize corporate events without any formal education in event management or business administration.

Event management is the application of the management practice of project management to the creation and development of festivals and events. Event management involves studying the intricacies of the brand, identifying the target audience, devising the event concept, planning the logistics and coordinating the technical aspects before actually executing the modalities of the proposed event.

Study includes organizational skills, technical knowledge, P.R., marketing, advertising, catering, logistics, decor, glamour identity, human relations, study of law and licenses, risk management, budgeting, study of allied industries like television, other media and several other areas.
Basic eligibility criteria:
10th, 12th (Higher Secondary students) with any group as the majors can choose event management as their career.
