GATE Scores

GATE rank: GATE rank is also known as All India Rank (AIR). A candidate get his/her GATE rank only for his branch. For example: a candidate from electrical engineering will get GATE rank among all electrical engineers, who attended GATE exam of that particular year.
GATE score: GATE score is calculated out of 1000, while GATE marks are calculated out of 100. GATE score can be calculated using a formula, which is based on normalized marks.

To pursue MS from abroad, you have to appear for TOFEL and GRE exam.

GRE score is not a mandatory requirement for MS in German Universities, but a good score will enhance your chances in getting admission for MS. Different departments have their own criteria for selection of candidates for MS. You are advised to look at the details of departments in which you want to do MS.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. GATE score is used by Indian universities for higher education admission and it is not valid abroad. A lot of PSUs use GATE score to hire graduate engineers for entry level jobs.

Most of the PSU companies offer jobs to civil engineers on the basis of GATE marks.
